BANJARA VADU-VAR PARICHYA MELAVA AT NANDED

THIS IS FOR KIND INFORMATION OF ALL THE BANJARA BACHELOR'S

BANJARA VADHU-VAR PARICHYA MELAVA IS ARRANGED AT NANDED ON 22ND OF FEBRUARY AT NANDED.
THE PERSONS IN TOUCH MAY PLEASE BE INFORMED

Banjara Doctor's Conference was a grand success

National Seva Doctor’s Association’s(NSDA) second annual conference held last month at thane was attended by huge number of banjara doctors, their families and relatives. More than 400 doctors from various states had registered for the conference. Maharashtra Food & Drugs Administration minister Mr.Manohar Naik,Ex-MP Shri Haribhau Rathod and many banjara intellectuals attended the conference.

Banjara Bhushan Award was given to Dr. S.B.Chavan for his contribution in healthcare sector. He has retired as Director of Health Services, Maharashtra State.

Banjara Gaurav Awards were given to Pratik Rathod for achievement in sports field, Dr.Sandeep Rathod for achievement in Civil Services Exam and to Mr.Shankar Pawar for his Social work .

NSDA is a start of new Dawn in Banjara History, it showed that we care about our community. NSDA has decided to give scholarship to poor capable students who can not afford the costly medical education. NSDA Thane-Mumbai Branch has adopted a banjara locality in thane and has promised to hold monthly free medical check-up(free medicine distribution) camps at the locality and other localities in and around Mumbai-Thane. NSDA has also given the cheque of 21000/- Rs to the family of a doctor from Virar who had died at early age leaving behind wife and 2 small kids.

The Credit of this success of conference goes to Oraganising President Dr.Charan Jadhav and his team who have worked very hard to make this conference a big success. And they have got the right reward in return.Dr.Charan Jadhav has been appointed as National Vice-President of NSDA and many of his committee members have been inducted in National Core Committee of NSDA.
I think the matrimonial section at the Conference was also a major crowd puller. It is necessary as it will help us in having Roti-Beti Vyavhar between various states so that the problem of Rathod’s could also be solved to some extent.Border districts of various states have Roti-Beti Vyavhar but it is limited. Whatever is the motive its nice to see people coming together….

It has been decided that the National Level Conference will be held at any state’s capital and state level conferences will be held in respective states.I liked the practice of giving the sole organizing rights to the committee from the place where the conference is to be held which helps in bonding the doctors. This year the majority of the doctors were from Maharashtra,Next year the conference is going to be held at Hyderabad so I think Next year there will be these doctors from Maharashtra and hundreds of doctors from Andhra Pradesh and from many other parts of the country.

It felt nice to hear the emotional speeches of the NSDA committee doctors, here on orkut we may think that we are different as we are from different states but when we meet we all are one….same in all aspects, it feels great…..We have our own language and culture which brings us closer…

Just at the 2nd conference the progress NSDA has made is commendable, but more work needs to be done at organizational level, It should not remain as a yearly gathering some concrete steps should be taken we are already too late our community needs us.Doctors have a very special role in society and they can bring a lot of change.Addictions to alcohol, smoking etc are menace to our community, doctors can design some standard Vyasan Mukti(Rehabilitation) programs and if every doctor gives some time for his/her tanda this problem could be solved it will take time but we can do that.
You may have great will to do something but nothing can be done without money, previously you might have the will but don’t know what to do.Now we have a channel of people who have genuine concern for our community, who will not misuse your money. Those who are well off(whether doctors or non-doctors) need to donate generously, if you cant give your time.you can give money .................
......(I am not a fund raiser for NSDA its just a view of mine)
You can view pics of NSDA at www.banjara.blog.co.in

help to develop our kashi(Poharadevi)

Jai Sevalal,
Powaradevi is Kashi of Banjara's & every year lacs of Banjara's go there as pillgrims. But how many of them have thought of renovation of Temple. There is no place for visitors.People go there & live in open.Cann't we all come together & make some improvements over there?Cann't anybody think that this is our responsibily? Why do people go there only for the sake of eating Mutton? Are all these Banjara ministers sleeping yet not to understand the importance of this Temple?I think that it is our responsibily to make improvements there.Main problem is money. If we decide that each person going there have to pay 50rupees per haed for improvements of Both temple's Jagdamba & Powaradevi,we can collect alot. So,I kindly request U to do something in this matter.

LETS STOP LAMBADI CONVERSION INTO CHRISTIANS

One christian missionary claims to convert a big % of lambadi poputation into christian by year 2020, this way our culture will be extinct into the pages of history like the egyptians !Presently there are more than 30,000 converted christian lambadi in Andhra Pradesh alone, Organizations like the Vishwa Hindu Parishat are helping reconvert the converted christians of india back to hindu, but it hasnt reached the Lambadi population yet, effectively. Most of the east Indian state like arunachal pradesh, mizoram, tripura are all converted into christians 95% by population by 1980, now they are claiming the indian government for a seperate country because hinduism is minority in these state. So PLEASE help me Stop this religious conversion(specially among the poor lured by money for religious conversion) in our country sowing the seeds of HATEREDNESS by these foreigners, amongst we citizens.PLEASE LETS ACT ELSE IT'LL BE TOO LATE !
is no one bothered ,
just look at the small article from andhra jyothi ( a local news paper)http://www.crusadewatch.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=729&Itemid=38

I appreciate your concerns about the conversion... and definitely we need to stop this conversion to preserve our rich culture and tradition. However there are a few points i would like to mention...1. The Christian missionaries have a loyal and dedicated work force backed up by huge amounts of funds2. Their only job is to promote conversion and spread Christianity.. and they have no other job to worry about due to the constant free flow of funds3. They have support from International communities which makes it even stronger bringing international politics into their favor4. India being a secular nation it's pretty difficult to take a stand against them legally unless otherwise proved legally5. Most importantly they operate at a very grass root level and often get away from the attention of media etc...So, they have their agenda very clear... and follow with strong loyalty...You may say that providing education etc may solve the problem but the issue much more involvement than just providing schools and teachers to the community which these missionaries are already providing in some localities...To my understanding to stop this kind of conversion we need to provide some incentives much better than what these missionaries are providing... for e.g. jobs, financial help, free education or anything which can lure them to stick to their own culture... We need to reach to the community before they could so that we can take the first mover advantage and also reach to more localities than they could... i.e., We should be able to beat them in time and space... that, i think, should be the strategy... Anyways, Can some one give the info/statistics regarding the spread of Christianity among our community... this can give us some idea of the severity of the issue in our community...

Janmaki Banjara, teen wonders

Janaki Banjara is a girl of many talents. The 14-year-old class IX student of Anand Niketan high school (Shilaj) is an outstanding footballer, danseuse, swimmer, athlete and scout who has also consistently been a top-of-the-class pupil !

Janaki's latest accomplishment is a callup to the national camp that will pick the India under-17 girls football team. Considering her age, it's no mean feat and comes quickly on the heels of her terrific show at the national championships in Uttarkhand recently where she slammed a hat-trick , which was no flash-in-the-pan . She was, after all, the skipper of the Gujarat team. And on November 14, Children's Day ( Jaw a h a r a l Nehru's birthday ) Janaki will be leading the Anand Niketan dance group at the National Institute of Performing Arts (NIPA) in Delhi. The school will represent Gujarat at the festival which will also feature troupes from six other countries and all other Indian states.

When the letter from the Gujarat State Football Association arrived this week asking her to join the national camp, she was beside herself with joy. "This is an honour. I will do my best to get into the India squad," she said. Janaki rates the best performance award that her school troupe won at the India International Centre in New Delhi in 2006 at a national competition organised by cultural group Avantika as her finest moment on the cultural front. School coach Khetsingh Rana is proud of the fact that in the span of a few months, another girl from his school team has won recognition at the national level. "Vishwa Patel's inclusion in Team India that took part in the Asian U-14 championships in Vietnam was a great moment for us. Now, it is Janaki who has brought us the laurels ," he said. At the Special National Jamboree in Kolkata in 2007 - the centenary year of the scouts movement - Janaki was one of a few who were awarded the Adventure Activity Award and in 2005 she trekked the Himalayas in a Youth Hostels Association of India programme.

At the age of six, she appeared on Gujarat Doordarshan as part of a dance group that had won the first prize in a local competition organised for charity. This year Janaki won the 'Group Kathak second best' award at Global Harmony , a multi-lingual drama, dance and music competition organised in Pune by the Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh which is a member of the Dance Council of UNESCO, Paris. She also took part in a Rajasthani Folk contest there and clinched a consolation prize.

At the West Zone athletics championships, Janaki participated in the triathlon, and won medals at local swimming competitions. She also takes part in state yoga meets.

Janaki scores around 95 per cent marks in her exams. School principal Caesar D'Silva said, "I wish her success for the future." The allrounder par excellence says, "I will continue all my activities in the class X and XII as well. I am confident that I can master all trades!"

More funds sought for Banjara Bhavan

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Pradesh Banjara (Lambani) Seva Sangha has urged the Government to extend the lease on the land given to it for another 30 years, and to ensure that the Banjara Bhavan, sanctioned by the Government in Vasantnagar here, is managed and run by the sangha. It should totally devoted to promoting the Banjara culture, religion, literature and education.

Sangha president and former minister B.T. Lalitha Naik told presspersons that the blueprint of the Banjara Bhavan was ready, and the construction was to begin shortly, at a cost of Rs. 6 crore. She urged the Government to grant Rs 3 crores for the project.

Welcoming the Government’s announcement that a Karnataka Banjara Development Corporation would be set up with Rs. 10 crore, Ms. Naik said that the first announcement had been made during Veerappa Moily’s tenure as Chief Minister, with a grant of Rs. 5 crore, and even during former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s tenure as Finance Minister, it had been announced in the Budget.

Apart from this Rs. 1 crore had been promised for the construction of a temple of Sant Sevalal in Sooregondanakoppa.

Sangha working president S. Ramadas Naik said there were indications that the Bangalore Development Authority was trying to acquire the 6-acre plot promised to the sangha and urged the Government to ensure that this did not happen.

Ms. Naik announced that the foundation stone for the Banjara Bhavan would be laid by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy later this month.
